Our Mission Statement: To offer our best to God through Worship, Fellowship and Care for the Community
The ringers (which is what we call ourselves) have maintained ringing here at Christ Church without break since 1980. We meet every Wednesday in the bell tower from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. for practice. We ring for all Sunday morning services and, occasionally, for afternoon services. Our services are also much in demand for weddings and, occasionally, for funerals when we toll a single bell.
Historically, throughout the country, church bells were rung almost exclusively by men, as can be seen in this picture, taken in 1929, which includes a number of ringers from our own church band.
Today, things are quite different. The picture below was taken in May 2016 on the retirement of the then Tower Captain, Peter Humphreys. (The picture includes our Minister and one of the church elders).
Anyone interested in ringing, especially learning to ring, is asked to contact the Tower Captain.
