Our Mission Statement: To offer our best to God through Worship, Fellowship and Care for the Community
Up until the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the ringers (which is what we call ourselves) had maintained ringing here at Christ Church without break since 1980. Until then we met every Wednesday in the bell tower (from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.) for practice, with regular ringing for church services and weddings as required.
Although some ringing recommenced upon easing of Covid-19 restrictions, we are now much depleted numerically for a variety of reasons. Ringing for Sunday morning services has been very much affected with only a handful of ringers available at best. Some ringing for practice is maintained though presently not on a regular basis.
For wedding ringing, we are fortunate to benefit from the services of ringers from other Wirral churches so are able to satisfy the sometimes heavy demand from couples wishing to have bells as part of their wedding experience at Christ Church.
This Video Recording, taken during one of our practice nights a few years ago, gives a good illustration of the ringers art.
